About our School
Richard J. Wilson Elementary is located at the heart of the beautiful Southside Hispanic community in Fort Worth. The school celebrated its 100 year anniversary on May 7, 1998, a year after its name was changed from South Fort Worth Elementary. The school has had its share of renovations and updates thru the years and is now getting ready to receive new updates through the latest Bond Program. Currently the school services 740 students in PK thru 5th grade. The school implements the District's curriculum called FWISD Framework on website and the enVision math program also on website. The curriculum is enhanced thru the use of two computer labs and state-of-the-arts computirized interactive white boards (Promethean Boards) in grade 1st-5th.
The school offers a variety of programs to meet its diversified student needs. Among those are Bilingual, Dual Language, Gifted and Talented, Fine Arts and Inclusion. All of the teachers are designetd as "Highly Qualified" teachers throught the state of Texas and they undergo continuos staff development in order to offer students a quality education. Richard J. Wilson follows the traditional school calendar.
