The Fort Worth ISD Board of Education is conducting a search to select a permanent superintendent, with the goal of having the new leader assume his or her duties on March 1, 2012.
A Special Board Meeting to hear public comment on the search will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at 5:30 p.m. in the Board Room at 2903 Shotts Street, Fort Worth.
The collective input will provide valuable direction in identifying desired qualifications and experience for the superintendent position.
Trustees chose the firm of Thompson & Horton LLP to assist with the search process. Consultants David Thompson, Dr. Mike Moses, Dr. Rod Paige and Dr. Julian Trevino met with small focus groups on November 7. Members of the focus groups were recommended by each Board trustee and included parents, teachers, students and other community groups.
