Wedgwood Middle School Parents, Guardians, and Community Members

 It is amazing that we have already reached the midway point of the 2009 - 2010 school year.  I want to 
thank each of you for your continued support in assisting with the education of your child.  The New Year brings  
several important announcements that you need to know.  They are as follows:

• All students have a four day weekend from January 15th - 18th for teacher workday and Martin
Luther King Day
• Please assist us in making sure students are wearing their coats to school to stay warm.  Once at
  school these coats should be placed in their lockers.  Students not having a lock for their locker
  can purchase one in the front office for three dollars.  Lockers are assigned by their period
  one teacher.
• Third Six Weeks Report Cards will be out on January 28th.
• 7th and 8th grade students are showing strong gains in their Science assessments!  This is
  important due to it being a focus area for improvement on campus.
• Course selections for students will occur in the month of February.  Specific times will be
  announced in upcoming weeks.
• High School visits for all 8th grade students to South Hills or Southwest will be occurring in
  February.  Specific times will be announced in upcoming weeks.
