Congratulations Ms. Ginger Cary, Garden Coordinator of the Year!
REAL School Gardens was pleased to award Ms. Ginger Cary with their Garden Coordinator of the Year Award at last week’s REAL People event in recognition of her outstanding efforts in supporting the gardens at Washington Heights and her many years of service. As a token of their appreciation for her hard work, passion and long-standing commitment to encouraging outdoor learning, Ms. Cary received an additional $100 which she has chosen to purchase gardening supplies for the school.
Real School Gardens recognized her role in helping to revitalize the outdoor learning program at Washington Heights and her commitment to implementing key systems to sustain the garden and help it thrive. This year’s project has been the planting and growing of potatoes. Students at different grade levels, teachers, Ms. Cary, and Dr. Amanda Stone Norton (BRIT) have worked together to grow potatoes in the garden which will be donated to the Food Pantry.
