Commitment, dedication, and excellence are some of the traits that describe Sunrise McMillian’s 2008-2009 Teacher of the Year, Ms. Irene Johnson. Ms Johnson currently teaches 4^th grade English language Arts. Ms. Johnson has 18 years in education that spans experiences as a classroom teacher, Literacy Coach, Charter School Director and Assistant Principal. She attended Baylor University and received her teaching certification from Dallas Baptist University.  From there she started her graduate work in mid management at Texas Woman’s University. Ms. Johnson has 2 sons and 3 grandchildren. Her hobbies include reading, gardening, and fishing. Sunrise McMillian is proud to have Ms. Johnson as our Teacher of the Year.
