The first meeting will be held on Thursday, September 1, at 2:30 p.m. at Christ Chapel Bible Church. The church is located at 3740 Birchman Avenue in Fort Worth.

The DERC evolved over the last year from the District’s Communications Council. The Communications Council has been a long-standing activity focused on internal communications throughout the District. The primary goal of the DERC is for employees to have an avenue through which to feel comfortable that their voice regarding all District issues is heard.

Interim Superintendent Walter Dansby has made employee feedback a priority.

“Timely and accurate two-way communication makes it easier for all us to do our primary job which is the education of children,” Mr. Dansby says. “Our employees have valuable insights and we need to hear their ideas.”

The new DERC may have up to two representatives from each campus.  By policy, there must be one elected representative and there may be a principal-appointed representative, as well.

The Interim Superintendent and Cabinet members will attend DERC meetings.
