Our History

The Springdale section of Riverside was growing rapidly after World War II. In fact, it was one of the fastest growing neighborhoods in the city. Eleven temporary wood framed buildings were used until the existing building was opened in February 1954. That building was designed by Preston M. Geren's International Design. The building was two stories with entrances on the east and west ends. In 2004, Springdale started the school year with a new addition. It included ten new classrooms, a new library, and an enlarged cafeteria.  Springdale is currently receiving renovations to its original 1954 classrooms.

The school colors are royal blue and white, and our school mascot is the eagle. Springdale services Pre-Kindergarden through fifth grade. The students will then go to Riverside Middle School and Carter Riverside High School. Springdale has 575 students and is a Title I campus.

Our students have achieved the rating Recognized by TEA from 1998-2009. Our students also were honored with the title, Science Olympics Champions during the 2006-2007 school year.
