STAFFULTY MEMBER OF THE WEEK
4/9/2012 Staffulty Member of the Week: Ned Smith
Mr. Smith was recently overheard telling a student how proud he was of her for the work she had been doing in his class. He also told her how she could improve her AP test score with just a little more effort. A coworker noted, “He is always on duty in the 300 hall interacting with students, asking for passes, etc... He really cares about students and their well-being, and it shows.”
When you see Ned Smith, please congratulate him on being selected as the Staffulty Member of the Week.
4/2/2012 Staffulty Member of the Week: Danielle Arnold
Mrs. Manning nominated Mrs. Arnold, and had nothing but good things to say about her. “She has helped numerous coaches here at the school with our team uniforms. She used her expert sewing skills to keep some of our uniforms looking decent. She has even taken pieces of uniforms to create uniforms when we did not have enough. Mrs. Arnold's skills don't stop there; she has helped some of the faculty members with their fashion budgets. When I lost weight, she helped turn my size 14's into 8's. I feel she goes over and beyond to help foster our school spirit.”
3/26/2012 Staffulty Member of the Week: Judy Hill
Mrs. Hill was nominated because, according to Mrs. Flowers, “She is always so willing and accommodating in answering students' and parents' questions about PSAT/SAT testing, AP/Honors classes, Dual Credit, and even fields counselor requests when she sees that we are overwhelmed.”
3/19/2012 Staffulty Member of the Week: Glenda Tisby
Mrs. Tisby, one of our campus monitors, can often be found in the hallways building relationships with students. Mrs. Trammell says that “many students feel comfortable talking to her, and she has a way of listening to them while expressing to them how to resolve a problem they are having appropriately.” According to Mrs. Trammell, in addition to monitoring the halls she “can be seen at almost all sporting events to support Southwest.”
3/5/2012 Staffulty Member of the Week: Elvis Pardue
According to Mrs. Willett, Mr. Pardue’s commitment to maintaining a safe, clean environment is evident every day. Mr. Pardue “always has a smile, and will go above and beyond to address any classroom need.” In addition, Mr. Pardue, along with other members of our wonderful custodial staff, voluntarily moved furniture for a recent assistant principal office swap. Several staff members have commented that he is a joy to work with, and they appreciate all he does.
2/27/2012 Staffulty Member of the Week: Shella Morland
According to her coworkers, Mrs. Morland "goes above and beyond for the staff and principals. She is steadfast in her commitment to her work. Shella has many duties as school secretary, and she does them with pride." She is always willing to answer questions and help in various situations. "Shella is incredibly reliable, she is definitely someone you can count on. Her high morals and fairness are... two of her many qualities."
When you see Shella Morland, please congratulate her on her being selected as the Staffulty Member of the Week.
2/20/2012 Staff Member of the Week: Sharla Simpkins
Mrs. Simpkins is the Science Dept Lab Tech. Here are a few comments that science teachers have made about Mrs. Simpkins:
”Her lab store rooms are the shining example for the district.” “She is quick to help out with a class, prepare for a sub when a teacher is out, train with us when we learn new lab techniques, and keep all of our labs organized and prepared on lab day.” “Our Science Dept is awesome, largely because of Sharla Simpkins.”
Congratulations to Sharla Simpkins.
