Accelerated Reader is a reading program provided by Fort Worth ISD. Students read fiction and nonfiction books that are at their individual reading levels. Then students take short computer-based quizzes on the books that they have read. Students must make an 85% average or better to pass their quizzes. This is a great tool for assessing individual student's progress in reading. A student may move up to the next level of book if they make five consecutive one hundreds on their exams.

Each grade level has individual reward systems for the amount of book quizzes mastered. The top ten AR point earners will be posted outside fo the library each week. Fantastic prizes will be awarded to all AR point earners at the end of the school year. The greatest prize of all? Your students will become better readers!
