10 Seniors Get Free Prom Dresses

For many high school students, prom night is a right of passage; a night they will always remember.  Last Saturday, the dance was especially meaningful for one Dunbar High School student and 35 lucky seniors from two other FWISD high schools.

Tanesa Peterson, a junior at Dunbar HS, is a clothes designer. She decided that she could use her talents to help those with a need through her Prom Princess Give-away and the support of local businesses.

Tanesa created dresses for 35 selected seniors – 10 from Arlington Heights, 10 from Polytechnic and 15 from Dunbar. All Prom Princesses met at Dunbar HS on Saturday, May 7th, for a make-over that included hair, nails and make-up. By 4 p.m.,  all students were on their way with prom dresses in hand!
