 Gold Seal Programs of Choice

ADVANCED MEDIA PRODUCTION & COMMUNICATIONS
Those who have a personality for television or a creative talent for production can be a part of a program that houses the only student-managed and produced radio station in the District (KPLY FM 102.5). Students also benefit from partnerships with Texas Christian University, Fort Worth ISD’s Communications/EdTV Department, NBC 5 and Telemundo. Participants gain real-world experience as they complete lessons in Advanced Media Production and Communications where broadcast journalism is brought to life.

CERTIFICATIONS: AUDIO SYSTEMS LEVEL II, CERTIFIED BROADCAST TECHNOLOGIST (CBT), CERTIFIED TELEVISION OPERATOR (CTO)

 

CULINARY ARTS
For those who have a palate for fine cuisine, this area of study provides students the unique opportunity to fine tune their cooking and food preparation skills in a dynamic culinary arts program. Elements of this coursework will open doors for participants to explore and enjoy the fast paced world of restaurant management and ownership. A culinary artists’ future is only limited to their imagination in the kitchen, and this program aims to bring out the best.

ENGINEERING & AUTOMATION
The Engineering and Automation program will uniquely allow students to explore science, math and automation. They will create solutions for engineering problems, work with automated systems, participate in science labs, build robots and participate in scientific research. Engineering Design and Problem Solving, Principles of Technology and Robotics and Automation are available in regular, honors or advanced classes.

TEACHING & LEARNING
This program is for those who have a heart for teaching. Students have the opportunity to prepare themselves for a life of giving back, strengthening their desire to make a difference in the world. The program at Poly touts an educational partnership with Texas Wesleyan University as well as other opportunities. The Teaching and Learning program catapults students to the top of the educational development field and equips them to design and implement curriculum that is cutting edge, proven and tested.

Mrs. Lamb, a native of Franklin, Louisiana, has been in Fort Worth for 12 years.  She formerly taught Mathematics and AVID and coached at Carter Riverside High School.  Mrs. Lamb has been a counselor in FWISD for eight years.  This is her first year as Programs of Choice Coordinator.  She is married to Wesley, Sr. and the proud mother of Wesley Jr., Laila, and
                                                            Winston.
