The Board appointed a nine-member Redistricting Committee to divide the District into nine single-member districts and appropriately apportion the districts based on the 2010 Census population data.
Committee Chairman Bert Williams has advised the Board that committee members will also attend the hearings.
“I will work to have two or three members of the committee at each public hearing to assist School Board members as comments are collected,” said Williams.
The public hearings will allow the District to assess the proposed plans as well as comply with federal and state legal requirements for redistricting.
