After School Program

Mary Louise Phillips Elementary School is the first school within Fort Worth ISD to adopt Peaceful Playgrounds, a nationwide program that aims to combat bullying and obesity through collaborative, structured play.  Peaceful Playgrounds provides stencils and a blueprint with measurements, layout, spacing and placement, which allows schools to transform pavement into vibrant, colorful play areas with numbers, letters and geometric shapes.

Phillips raised $4,500 for Peaceful Playgrounds through a walk-a-thon last year.  About 40 volunteers from Phillips and Range Online Media recently spent a Saturday painting the playground.
