Oakhurst Holds Wellness/Parent Portal Night
On Monday, February 13th, Oakhurst presented its first-ever Family Wellness Night for faculty, students & parents. Each grade level offered a special activity intended to teach students how to make healthier choices. Events included a Healthy Tooth Spinning Wheel where students answered questions about oral health and won a prize, "What Do You Burn That Doesn't Catch Fire" lesson about calories, Wii Dancing games, and the Hokey-Pokey & Chicken Dance in the cafeteria.
Parents also had a chance to sign up for the Fort Worth ISD Parent Portal. Six students and their families won door prizes, an Oakhurst recyclable bag filled to the brim with healthy snacks and goodies! About one hundred fifty students, siblings and parents participated in the event. Thanks to all the faculty and staff who contributed to the success of this fun evening!
