Message From Martinez

    Hello North Side Family,

Hello friends!  We are excited about our upcoming school year.  As always, we are busy coming up with ways to make North Side High School the best school in Texas.  We have assessed our areas of strengths and weaknesses and are proud of the progress we have made in the last year.  Teachers are hard at work implementing our new initiatives within their classrooms.

The real difference makers in our students at NSHS are the Parents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and family members.  Each of you has a significant impact on the adult your child is becoming.  I would like to ask each of you to consider supporting your child in the following ways:

     · GET INVOLVED! Each day find some way to connect with your child about his or her education.  Ask questions, visit the school, set up a conference with a teacher, visit the FWISD parent website, check out our Parent Portal (coming soon), and call the counselors to ask about college.

· CONNECT!  Find ways to spend time with your child daily and let them know you care. Attend his or her events, help with homework and encourage them to do their best!

· DREAM BIG!  Support your child on his or her journey to college.  Make it a priority to talk to your child and help them understand and believe they CAN go to college.  College is available to ALL NSHS students.  There are lots of resources out there to make it possible for your child – just check in with our counselors.

All four girls of my girls attend college. I raised my girls to believe college was a necessity.  We talked about it several times a week.  They knew it was my expectation that they go to college.  I am proud to say I have a daughter at the University of North Texas, the University of Texas in Austin, Texas Women’s University and Texas State University.

Join with us to help your student “take care of business” and achieve utmost academic success.

Stampeding to New Frontiers,

Antonio Martinez Jr.
