The Luella Merrett Elementary Outdoor Learning Environment was established Fall, 2005. A Rainwater Foundation grant made it possible. Students from Merrett and The Applied Learning Academy, along with adult volunteers, worked to plant the garden.
Rain barrels were installed Spring, 2006, to catch rainwater from the school roof.
In 2007 students selected names for our Outdoor Learning Environment. Each class submitted a name. The names were voted on by the students. The winning name was The SuperBee Garden.
