Principal -
Melissa Bryan

 

 

 

 

Melissa Bryan is proud to be a native of Fort Worth and a product of the Fort Worth ISD. She graduated from Arlington Heights High School and went on to pursue Early Childhood Education studies at Auburn University. After completing her student teaching in Perth, Australia, she taught at Benbrook Elementary for seven years. She continued her studies in Educational Administration at the University of Texas at Arlington. She served for three years as the Assistant Principal at Sam Rosen Elementary before coming to Luella Merrett Elementary in 2006. Mrs. Bryan and her husband, Robert, are the parents of two lovable yellow Labradors named Aubie and Herbie. Both dogs are registered therapy dogs with the Delta Society and love coming to school with mom to help children with academics and behavior. Mrs. Bryan's hobbies include cooking, watching sports – especially college football or hockey, and spending time with her family.

Melissa Bryan se siente orgullosa de haber nacido en Fort Worth y de ser producto del Distrito Escolar Independiente de Fort Worth.  Se graduó de la Escuela Secundaria Arlington Heights y cursó sus estudios en Educación inicial en la Universidad de Auburn.  Luego de completar su práctica docente en Perth, Australia, trabajó como maestra durante siete años en la Escuela Primaria Benbrook Elementary.  Posteriormente, la Sra. Bryan continuó estudios en Administración Escolar en la Universidad de Texas, Arlington. Antes de llegar a la Escuela Primaria Luella Merrett en el año 2006, fue Subdirectora en la Escuela Primaria Sam Rosen.  La Sra. Bryan y su esposo son “padres” de dos adorables labradores dorados llamados Aubie y Herbie.  Ambos perros son mascotas terapeutas registradas con la Sociedad Delta y disfrutan de ir a la escuela donde trabaja “mamá” a ayudar a los niños en el aspecto académico y con su conducta.  Entre los pasatiempos de la Sra. Bryan se encuentran cocinar, ver deportes- en especial el hockey o el fútbol colegial- y dedicarle tiempo a su familia.

Karelyn Foley

 

 

   

 

Karelyn Roberts is a native Californian but has enjoyed living in Fort Worth for the past 5 years.  During her undergraduate work, she studied abroad in Granada, Spain with the goal of becoming bilingual.  She graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelors Degree in Single Subject Social Science Teaching.  After teaching at the Juvenile Court and Community Schools in San Diego California, she was recruited to teach in a turnaround school in FWISD.  Mrs. Roberts taught at South Hills High School in FWISD for 3 years where she taught Social Studies in grades 9-12, developed a state-recognized student leadership program and coached girls soccer.  During her third year of teaching at South Hills High School, she was recognized as the Teaching Chair of Excellence in Humanities for FWISD.  Mrs. Roberts continued her education as part of the Aspiring Principal program in FWISD and earned her Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies through the University of Texas at Arlington.  While in the Aspiring Principal program, she served as an Assistant Principal Resident at Eastern Hills High School.  Mrs. Roberts is now excited to be part of the Superbee family at Luella Merrett Elementary.  Mrs. Roberts and her husband, Robby, are parents of 3 dogs that were rescued from various organizations.  In her spare time, she enjoys playing with her dogs at the park, exercising, traveling, cooking, and spending time with her friends and family.

 

 

 

Aspiring Principal Resident-
Claudia Villeda

 

Claudia Villeda is a proud product of Fort Worth ISD.  She graduated from North Side High School in 1991.  After high school she joined the Military and served during Desert Storm.  Upon her return she attended Texas Woman’s University where she pursued a career in Community Health Education.  She began teaching at Washington Heights Elementary in 1999 and in 2002 returned to school to seek a Master of Library Science.  Her experience includes ten years in the classroom, three years in the library, and is currently part of the Aspiring Principal Program.  Mrs. Villeda feels very lucky to have been assigned to do her residency at Luella Merrett!   

Claudia Villeda tiene el gran orgullo de haber estudiado en el distrito  escolar de Fort Worth. Ella se graduó de la preparatoria North Side en 1991. Después de la preparatoria ella se unió al servicio militar y fue parte del “Desert Storm” (Tormenta del desierto). De regreso al país ella estudió en la Universidad Texas Woman, donde consiguió la carrera en Educación de salud comunitaria. Ella enseñó en la escuela primaria Washington Heights del año 1999 al 2002, regresó entonces a la escuela para conseguir su maestría en ciencias de biblioteca. Su experiencia incluye 10 años en clase, 3 años de biblioteca y es actualmente una estudiante del programa para  aspirantes a subdirectores. La señora Villeda se siente muy afortunada de haber sido asignada para su servicio de práctica en la escuela Luella Merrett.
