On June 27th the D. McRae FWAS staff and volunteers accompanied students to DFW Airport to welcome back the troops that have been serving our country.  The students prepared “goody” bags for our troops as a token of appreciation for serving our country.  Troops were greeted with patriotic banners and pins designed by the students.  In preparation for the trip, the students celebrated America’s birthday by singing patriotic songs, studying American symbols and concluded the unit of study by discussing what it means to be an American.
