Benjamin, Heather - Data Analyst, Web Manager

I grew up in Montana and graduated college from the University of Montana-Western.  I worked at Morningside Middle School for 12 years as a math teacher before joining the McClung family.   

Bevel, James - 8th Grade Math and Reading

I graduated from Tarleton State University in 2008 with a Bachelors of Science degree. Then graduated from Western New Mexico University in 2011 with a Masters degree. I have a beautiful wife named Erica. I am coaching football and soccer at McClung. I have a bullmastiff dog named Bentley.  My first two years teaching were at an all male prison just north of Fort Worth.  

Chane, Kara - 8th Grade Science

I have a Bachelors degree in Science from the University of Texas at Arlington, and I live with my loving husband and two cats.  I am honored to be apart of the Jean McClung family and look forward to a wonderful year!

Cobbs, Stefan - Counselor 7th and 8th Grade

Stefan Cobbs was born in Dallas, Texas.  He received his Bachelor’s of Art degree from Texas A&M University.  Mr. Cobbs began his career in education as a 6^th grade Social Studies teacher in Dallas Independent School District.  He later worked as a prevention educator which served students in high-risk educational facilities.  Mr. Cobbs’ work experience in these programs led him to see the need for developing the social and emotional development of today’s youth. Subsequently, he pursued and obtained a Masters degree in counseling.  Mr. Cobbs career as School Counselor begin in Fort Worth Independent School District at Dunbar High School.  He also served as a counselor at Polytechnic High School.  This will be Mr. Cobbs first year at McClung Middle where he will continue to promote a positive atmosphere for the social, emotional, and academic development of students.

Mr. Cobbs’ family consists of his beautiful wife of 10 years and his four extraordinary sons: Stefan Jr., Daniel, Christian, and Gabriel.

Colon, Michelle - 6th Grade ELAR

I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English, with a Minor in History, from the University of Texas at Arlington. I have a passion for the English language, as well as for literature. I enjoy spending time with my husband, Luis Colon, and our dog, Sammy.

Conerway, Dwight - OCI/SSI

Graduated from Ferris State University (Michigan) with Bachelor's in Secondary Education and Integrative Studies, am currently enrolled in Master's program for Educational Leadership (Admin), 3 years coaching football & basketball (Handley's City Championship Team 2012). Through continued service, it is my goal to instill morals & values along with a desire to be life-long learners into our future young leaders.

Cook, Rachel - Librarian

Mrs. Cook was born and raised in the Amazon in the country of Brazil. Along with English, she speaks Portuguese and conversational Spanish. She received her Bachelor's in education from TCU and her master's in Library Science from UNT. This is Mrs. Cook's 18th year as an educator.

Dear, Patrice - Nurse

Patrice Dear, RN BSN is the first school nurse to open Jean McClung's clinic.  She is a 1996 graduate of George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, and has 15 years of nursing experience. She has devoted 11 years to serving children and families in a public school setting.  Her goal is to remove any health barriers that might interfere with learning and a vision to make a difference in the lives of "OUR" children “..Leaving no child left behind."

Douglas, Deneen - 7th Grade Science

I graduated with a degree in Communications with an emphasis in Radio and Television, as well as my teaching certification. No other job fit me as well as becoming a teacher; I have 5 years of teaching experience and love every aspect of it.  When I was in school my favorite subject was English, so it is a joy to share with my students a passion of mine. This year my goal is to keep an open line of communication with all of our parents, because I believe that “it take a village to raise a child”. 

Etienne, Gerda - 7th Grade Social Studies

I am the 7^th grade Social Studies teacher. I have been with FWISD for 4 ½ years. I have worked in the business environment for a number of years but was not satisfied. My love for children and a passion for teaching is what made me go into teaching.

Foley, Sarah - 7th Grade Reading and Math

Hi, my name is Sarah Foley. I am teaching 7th grade ELAR and Math this year. I was born in Dallas, Texas and have lived in the DFW metroplex my entire life. I graduated from Texas Woman’s University in Denton with a degree in Child Development. I truly believe that every child has something to offer to make this world, and our classrooms, a better place. I am excited about the work our fantastic staff at McClung will do for our youth this year, and for many years to come. It is my pleasure to work with y(our) children and help them not only succeed in their academics, but also establish a sense of value and pride about themselves. I am truly blessed to be a part of the McClung family where our mission is to go ‘Above and Beyond.’

Foster, Cheryl - Intervention Specialist

Mrs. Foster is a native of Wisconsin. Mrs. Foster is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned her M.S. in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. She has been practicing in the field of human services/mental health for 23 years. Her mission at McClung Middle School is address the social, emotional and behavioral needs of students while nurturing their unique individual talents.

Mrs. Foster enjoys reading, cooking, sports and travel. She and her husband have been richly blessed with three beautiful children.

Galambu, Umahmad - 6th Grade Science

Mrs. Galambu is a determined person who strives to inspire her students to meet their goals and aim high. She holds an Applied Science degree in Computer Information System, a Bachelor degree in English Language & Literature, and a Masters degree in Curriculum & Technology. Currently, she is working towards her Master Reading Teacher Certification. Her first teaching career started over 25 years ago at Secondary Education in Kuwait for a few years. Then she worked as a computer technical support before she came back to the teaching field seven years ago as an English Language Arts & Reading teacher. She is excited to work with the students towards shaping and reaching their dreams. She has a supportive husband. She is also a mother of three children and they are always her inspiration to help other children to meet their potentials.  Thank you for allowing me to help your child :)

Gentry, Darryl - 8th Grade Math

This will be my first year as a professional teacher. Previously I have recently concluded eight years of service in the U.S. Army. I am a graduate of O.D. Wyatt high school and am extremely excited to serve my hometown and community. It is my personal goal to assist students in achieving excellence and truly believe every student is capable and will exceed standards.

Goings, Cara - Band

Mrs. Goings, formerly teaching the Leonard 6th Grade band on Fort Worth's west side, is the band director at McClung Middle School.  She is a graduate of the University of North Texas where she was Head Drum Major.  Her primary instruments are Trumpet and Piano with a passion for conducting.  She currently performs weekly with the Southcliff Baptist Church Orchestra.  Mrs. Going is married to Todd Goings and has four children; Cayla, Laurel, Taylor and Jayden.  Her Maltese dog, "Rip", rounds out the family. 

Hanke, Steve - 6th Grade Math and Reading

Mr. Hanke teaches Math and ELAR for sixth graders at Jean McClung Middle School.  His passion is helping others participate in the learning process and his degree is in psychology.  Mr. Hanke and his wife enjoy working together with numerous organizations that serve the Fort Worth Community.

Hodges, Ramon - 6th Grade Math

My name is Ramon Hodges, a very supportive husband and father as well as a man committed to his goals and passionate about the dreams of children. I have served as a mentor with the Urban Life Boys Club and I understand the barriers that our children face. I believe in our children showing respect and being responsive to doing their part. This is my 3rd year teaching and I have a wealth of educational and life experiences along with a logistics and manufacturing background. I’m looking forward to working with parents, teaching as a 6^th grade math teacher, and coaching at McClung to pour greatness into the minds of our children.

Kagaso, Mariam - Teachers' assistant

My name is Mariam Kagaso and I was born in Africa. I am currently attending Liberty University and majoring in Education. My job at Jean McClung enables me to support teachers in curriculum instruction. My passion is working with children, and I hope to one day be a classroom teacher. I am excited about this upcoming year!

Lee, Kirk - 6th Grade ELAR

I’m one of the 6th grade English Language Arts/Reading teachers, Kirk Lee, and I have spent the last 10 years working at colleges and universities.  My goal is to help children be successful in reading and to help him/her acquire positive life skills. I was born and raised in Louisiana. I’m an avid reader and look forward to instilling a love of reading in my students.

Loftis, Teri - 6th Grade Social Studies

I am Teri Loftis, your son/daughter’s Social Studies teacher.  I have taught in FWISD for 6 years. I have taught Reading, Writing, and Social Studies for all grades 6th through 8th. My goal is to help your child be successful in Social Studies and to help him/her acquire positive life skills. I have two wonderful daughters and a very supportive husband.  I love being around kids and l really enjoy being  a positive role model for them.  I am excited about being at McClung Middle School and look forward to having a great year!

Lowe, Robert - Physical Education/6th Grade Wellness

This is my second year at Jean McClung, and my 30th year of teaching. In addition to teaching P.E. and Wellness, I also coach Football, Basketball, and Track. I'am a graudate of the University of Louisiana at Monroe, which is also my hometown.

May, Charmika - Reading Specialist

Ms. May is a proud product of Fort Worth ISD, who graduated from Paul Laurence Dunbar High School for Science and Engineering Professions.  She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Health and a Minor in Business Administration from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.  She later pursued a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Prairie View A&M University.  She taught Reading for 7 years prior to joining the McClung family as the Reading Specialist.  Ms. May is excited to make significant strides in literacy by helping students build their skills and confidence to exceed beyond their potential.

McCreary, Brandi - 7th Grade Math

Hi, I am Brandi McCreary and I teach 7th grade math and I am excited about this school year. This is my  3rd year in FWISD my first two years were at Eastern Hills High School where I taught Algebra 1. I have a degree in Mathematics and my goal is to get each student to "Learn to Love math"

Miller, Veronica - 7th Grade Science

Mrs. Miller is a graduate of the University of North Texas and is a 8th year teacher.  She started her career in teaching at Morningside Middle School here in Fort Worth and went on to teach at the high school level in Wichita Falls.  After a move to Colorado and 6 years serving as a Trainer and Senior Manager for a property management firm, she has returned to her home state of Texas and to her first love- teaching!

Nelles, Kim - 7th Grade ELAR

I graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in English and Secondary Education with a minor in Spanish.  I was a youth minister for six years before I began teaching.  I taught eighth grade at Morningside Middle School for seven years before joining McClung.  I live with my wonderful husband, beautiful baby daughter, and two hilarious dogs.  I am excited to be teaching English and Reading to our seventh graders and to have the opportunity to help them become better readers, writers, and thinkers!

Ogunde, Lola - Diagnostician

I am the Educational Diagnostician here at Jean McClung.   I earned Bachelor degrees in Special Education and Communications-Journalism from Utah State University in Logan Utah.  I went on to receive my Masters degree in Education Diagnostics from Texas Women University in Denton Texas.

I believe that all children have the ability to learn, as Educators we are using each of their individual strengths to strengthen their individual weaknesses.

Ordonez, Suzanna - Spanish/Exploratory Language

My name is Suzanna Ordoñez.  I am the Spanish and Exploratory Language teacher at Jean McClung Middle School.   This is an exciting time for me, as I begin my second year as a teacher, after doing social services for 21 years with the Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth.   I have been married to Rafael Ordoñez for 19 years.  Rafael and I are both products of the Fort Worth Independent School District.  We have three children, Geovanie, a senior in high school, Brianna, a 8^th grader and Adrian, a  3rd grader.  I hold a bachelor’s degree for the University of Texas at Arlington and I am currently working on a Master’s Degree in Mental Health and Direct Practice with Children and Families.  I am a native Spanish speaker and have high expectations for my students.  Please come by and say “hello or hola”.  I look forward to meeting you.   

Owolo, Elsie - 7th Grade Social Studies

Ms. Owolo is a native of Rockwall, Texas. After many years working in politics in Washington D.C., she decided to focus on working with children. Her previous work experiences include working with Congresswoman Laura Richardson, Congressman Tim Bishop, the Congressional Young Leaders Conference, the Texas American Federation of Teachers, and the Monster Diversity Leadership Conference.  She is currently a Fort Worth Teaching Fellow and has been trained through The New Teaching Project Academy. She is excited to transfer all of her experiences to the classroom and help her students enjoy history.

Parker, Franchesca - 6th Grade Science

My name is Franchesca Parker I was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. I Graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington. I am married with two children and I enjoy teaching. I am very excited to be a part of the Jean McClung Family and I am looking forward to a bright and successful year!

Paulson, Glenda - 8th Grade Social Studies

I have the privilege of teaching 8^TH grade Social Studies.  This is my second year teaching at Jean McClung and I may have taught your student last year in 6^th grade.  I look forward to working with parents as we create lifelong learners  of each student. 

My family includes my husband, three children and a Labrador retriever.  We relocated from Iowa but now consider Texas home.    I lived in Greece while serving in the military and I look forward to teaching your children about the world we live in.  Thank you for the opportunity. 

Phan, Duy - 7th Grade Math

Duy Phan is a product of FWISD. He Graduated from the University of Texas in Arlington with B.S. in Mathematics and minor in Physics. Mr. Phan worked as a math tutor at Eastern Hills HS and has taught at William James MS and Southwest HS. When he's not busy grading papers or doing lesson plan, Mr. Phan is most likely playing the piano or jogging.

Posada, Jassmine - 6th Grade Math

I am originally from New Jersey.  I have a Bachelor of Arts from Montclair State University, NJ and a Master of Arts from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  For the past three years I have worked at Morningside MS in their after school program.  My hobbies include sewing, drawing, hairstyling, and working with different youth organizations.  I have worked with students for the past seven years in after school programs, summer camps, and mission projects.  I enjoy working with students and look forward to teaching math and working with the amazing students of Jean McClung.

Ray, Joseph - 6th/7th Grade Science

Joseph Ray earned his B.A. in Organizational Communication from UT-Arlington in December, 2009.  He earned his Texas Teachers Alternative Certification as 4-8 Generalist in July, 2010.  The 4-8 Generalist designation indicates his high qualification in the areas of Science, Math, Social Studies, English and Language/Reading.  Mr. Ray anticipates earning his Masters Degree in Educational Administration in 2013 as well as his Principal Certification. Joseph Ray is the founder and President of N Front of Science, Incorporated.  He is a member of the Arlington/Grand Prairie Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and is the financial director of the Kappa League program.  Mr. Ray is a mentor in the U-Teach program for inspiring teachers, is active with UTA Mentor Program and with the UTA Volunteer Program.  He participated in the Emmitt J. Conrad Internship program sponsored by Senator Royce West. Joseph Ray lives in Arlington, Texas with his wife, Heather, and their two children.

Reyes, Veronica - Data Clerk

I was born and raised in El Paso, Tx. My husband and I have 2 beautiful daughters and enjoy spending quality together, especially Texas Ranger games and Six Flags. In 2008 we found our "forever home" in Saginaw, Tx. We are all huge animal lovers so our pets consist of dogs, a cat, a parrot, hermit crabs, fish and a ball python. It has been a privilege to work for Fort Worth ISD since 2008 but it is now an honor to become a part of the Jean McClung family and serve our community.

Ross, Tiffany - 8th Grade Social Studies

I grew up everywhere! My father was in the military and we finally landed in Killeen, TX. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Grambling States University, where I met my husband! I now live in the Fort Worth Area and have a passion for teaching. I have been teaching for 7 years, of which 5 years I was at Morningside Middle School. I am currently seeking a Masters in Administration at the University of Texas in Tyler. I love what I do, and I am looking forward to a great year. 

Russell, Zoia - 6th Grade Wellness

This is my second year at Jean McClung Middle School.  I have taught and coached in FWISD for 8 years.  I teach Physical education and Wellness at Jean McClung.  I also coach 8^th grade girls Volleyball, basketball and soccer.  I graduated from Angelo State University in San Angelo Texas.

Ruyle, Sherrie - 8th Grade Math

Sherrie Ruyle came to Jean McClung from Morningside Middle School where she taught 7th and 8th grade math for 5 years and was the 2009 Morningside Teacher of the Year.  She is currently working on her Master's Degree for Curriculum and Instruction for Middle School Mathematics from University of Texas at Arlington.  Ms. Ruyle is the  Department Chair for math and the 8th grade "Elite Team Red" team lead.

Scott, Elvia - 6th/7th Grade Social Studies

My name is Ms. Elvia Scott. I am a Sam Houston State graduate with a B. A. in English/Minor Speech Communications. I am looking forward to teachng 8th grade this year and aspiring all students to read and explore their full potential.

My name is Suzette G. Spears. My bachelor’s degree is in Elementary Education and I hold a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in Reading. I have been teaching in the district for 5 years. I have five children, and my daughter attends Jean McClung.

Thomas, Satia - 8th Grade ELAR

I am new to the McClung family, as an 8th grade ELAR teacher. I hold a BA in English from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA. I love teaching and believe that teaching is the greatest and most rewarding form of civil service. Teaching is my passion and my calling.

Varner, Katasha - Counselor 6th and 8th Grade

Ms. Varner is a Native Texan who grew up in Los Angeles, California and Austin, Texas. This will be Ms. Varner’s 9^th years as a Professional School Counselor.  Ms. Varner loves being a Counselor and enjoys working with students and parents.  In her spare time Ms. Varner enjoys traveling, reading and volunteering.

I am honored to be teaching at Jean McClung Middle School this year. I grew up in Bedford and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Oklahoma City University. My passion is sharing my love of knowledge and education with students. I am excited to have a memorable year forming the foundations of this school. Woodard, Roslyn - Choir

I graduated High School from the Science and Engineering professions at Dunbar.  I received my Bachelors Degree in Vocal Music from the University of Texas at Arlington.  I have been a choir director with FWISD for the past 20 years. I have been the recipient of numerous teaching awards such as: Outstanding First Year Teacher, Outstanding Teacher, FWISD Performing Arts Chair - Bayard Friedman Award 2005-2006.  I am married and have two daughters.
