Manuel Jara Elementary opened its doors to parents and students at Meet the Teacher Night. The event was held on the evening of August 19, 2011 and was a huge success! Parents and students were able to communicate with teachers about the upcoming school year. In addition, teachers were able to communicate their expectations, classroom procedures, and classroom management practices.

In order to inform parents about this event, parents received a recorded phone message from the principal, Mrs. Plata, to encourage them to attend. In addition, prizes were raffled off to those in attendance as an extra incentive to participate. Prizes included gift baskets and even a $100 Wal-Mart shopping card! Due to its success, this practice will be continued throughout the school year at our Family Fun Nights (please see the calendar section of this website for dates and times.)

The 2011-2012 school year is off and running! We can't wait to see the academic and personal growth that our students will accomplish this year. Remember, if you still have not had an opportunity to meet your child's teacher, there's never a better time than the present. At MJE, our door is always open.
