Fort Worth ISD families are invited to attend the District's ninth “I Dream…I Learn…I Win” Family Summit on Saturday, November 12. The event will run from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tarrant County College – South Campus Student Center (SSTU), 5301 Campus Drive, Fort Worth.
The District-sponsored event is designed to focus on the college-bound experience and to support the role that family members play in the decision making process. The summit will provide informational workshops, breakout sessions, exhibitors and keynote speakers. Free transportation from a student’s home school, as well as free breakfast and lunch are available.
“This Family Summit will provide ongoing support to students we recognized as those who have the persistence to set their sights on college,” says Dr. Danna Diaz, director of Student Engagement and Completion for FWISD. “We will provide parent and student testimonials on the importance of completing school and moving into the college experience.”
The community partners sponsoring this Summit include: Tarrant County College, Texas Christian University, University of Texas at Arlington, Texas Wesleyan University, Fort Worth Chambers of Commerce, Tarrant County Youth Collaboration, Learning through Sports, social service agencies, health care providers, faith-based organizations and other Fort Worth ISD Departments.
