Fort Worth ISD is doing its part to ensure all students will be healthy, fully immunized and ready to start school in the fall. A public awareness campaign called "Your Best Shot" is informing parents about immunization requirements, community health providers and immunization clinics scheduled throughout the summer.

Texas law requires students to be immunized against certain preventable diseases. Students without proper documentation of the required immunizations or a valid exemption will not be allowed to attend school, and students who are delinquent from immunizations will be excluded from school.

Information on free or reduced-cost vaccines is available through the county health department, or by calling 2-1-1 Texas. The three-digit toll free number provides information on health and social services for your area.

A series of immunization clinics will also be offered this summer by the Immunization Collaboration of Tarrant County at a cost of $10 per child. Parents must be sure to bring their child's immunization records.
