STUDENTS: 

Attention Faculty & Students: On April 27th –April 30th, the Wildcats will be taking their Math, Science, and Social Studies TAKS test. Signs will be posted in the halls of specific test dates. Remember that during testing electronic devices are not allowed, so be prepared to turn them in. This is our final TAKS week of this year. Good luck students. Let’s show them what Dunbar High School is made of. (Mrs. Boyd)

Attention Seniors:  On Thursday, April 29th and Friday, April 30th, if you have completed the Science and Social Studies parts of TAKS and are caught up with all your work for your classes and PLATO, you will have a late arrival of 12:00pm on both days. Otherwise, you will need to be here at 8:30am, where you will hold your classes in the PLATO lab. This is a great opportunity to get caught up so take advantage of it. (Mrs. Boyd) 

Attention: The Go-Center will be closed April 26-April 30, 2010 during TAKS Testing week. Do not send students to Go-Center. (Ms. Burles & Ms. McKinney)

Attention 12th Graders: If you would like to run for prom king or queen, pick up a grade verification form located in the front office and turn it in to Ms. W. Scott’s box by April 29, 2010. Seniors, please turn in your childhood pictures by May 7, 2010. You may turn them in to the following teachers: Ms. McCloud, Ms. LeGare, Mrs. Elliott, Mr. Scott or Coach Dunn.  (Ms. B. Washington)

Attention: Applications for the One Week Make-up Summer School session are available. The cost is $90. See your counselor for an application or for additional information. (Counseling Dept.)

Attention: Prom tickets for sale! Prom tickets are currently being sold until April 30. They are $60 for Dunbar students and $65 for non-Dunbar students. Please see Ms. B. Washington for more details. (Ms. Washington)

Attention: The Dunbar Band will be starting its first Flag Line. Any interested female or male may sign up in the front office or see Mr. Polk in the Bandroom. The first meeting will be May 4, 2010 at 4:00 PM in the Bandroom #156. (Mr. Polk)  

Attention: Friday, May 7th is the last day to purchase yearbooks for $38. On May 10th, the price of the yearbooks will increase to $50. (Mr. Phillips)

Attention: If you are interested in being a member of the Wildcat Drumline, please sign up in the front office or see Mr. Polk in the Bandroom #156. The first practice will be May 12th at 4:00PM – 5:30PM. (Mr. Polk)

Attention: PSAT Summer School will be held June 9 – June 25, 2010. If you are looking to increase your PSAT and SAT scores, learn test-taking strategies, stand out as a college bound student, then sign up with Mrs. Bennett for PSAT Summer School. (Mrs. Bennett)
