From Mr. Burgett's office

      We are extremely pleased with the way the year has begun!  Teachers are teaching and students are learning.  Together, with your help, we can ensure that our students have a wonderful experience this year.  We want to share some very good news with you…because of how well the 3^rd-5^th graders performed on the TAKS tests last year, our school has achieved the rating of  “Exemplary” from the state of Texas!  This is the highest rating that a school can receive. 

       We plan on working with the students so that we can achieve the same rating this year.  In order to do so, the teachers have very high standards for the children.  We are providing a rigorous curriculum that makes students think and justify their answers.  Students will be required to express themselves, both verbally and in writing.  Students in bilingual classes are expected to perform well in English as well as Spanish.  We have high expectations, and with your support, we will achieve amazing results with your children.
