Kevin Soto a second grader in Mrs. Perez' bilingual class is proudly displaying his "Ojo de Dios" or "God's Eye". This is an ancient symbol made by the Huichol Indians of Mexico and the Aymara Indians of Bolivia.
This activity of "process art", allowed the students to learn about their heritage as well as re-enforce the math concepts such as sorting, collating, associating, and patterning. |
