The 7th Annual Fort Worth ISD District Walk will take place on Saturday, May 12, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at all 13 District high school tracks.
Recently the Humana Foundation donated $10,000 to support this annual physical fitness event. The donation will allow the District to provide more publicity, bottled water, bus transportation, promotional T-shirts to participants and even incentives to schools that have the highest percentage of participation.
“We are very grateful to the Humana Foundation for their generosity in helping sponsor this event,” said Georgi Roberts, director of Health and Physical Education. "This event has been well received in the community since it began and it keeps getting bigger and bigger, so, grab a bottle of water, lace up your walking shoes, and come join us!”
Students, employees, family members, community members and everyone who values the positive health benefits of walking are invited to participate.
