A Montessori classroom is built upon the principles of Dr. Maria Montessori. She was a physician/educator who developed educational methods based on her observations of children. Today, Montessori schools reflect her basic concepts: observation of the child, organization of the classroom with hands-on materials, development of personal responsibility, and trained teachers.
All of the staff is dedicated to aiding the total student: Not just the academic side, but the social, emotional and artistic sides as well. Through our multi-age classrooms and our service to kindergarten through 8th grade, we engender a community feeling among our students, faculty, staff, and families.
