Principal - Brenda Whitlock

Mrs. Brenda Whitlock is a 25 year educator. She taught as a second grade teacher in Garland, Denton and Bastrop Texas for 14 years. This begins her fifth year as a Principal in Fort Worth. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree and Master’s Degree in Education with a Mid-Management/Principal Certification from Texas Woman’s University. Her Lifetime Teaching Certificate was obtained from Texas A & M University in Kingsville, Texas. She loves helping students and teachers do their best all areas of their life. The things she loves to do most are spend time with her husband and children, read a variety of genres, watch movies and see the “ah ha” moments when tutoring students.

She is very proud to be the principal of Como Elementary and believes that parents and teachers working together is the key to each student achieving high levels of excellence.                      

One of her favorite quotes is “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, “What are you doing for others?” by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

 

Assistant Principal - Arthurlyn Morgan 

Arthurlyn P. Morgan is a 17 year educator with Fort Worth ISD.  She served as a first and third grade teacher at both Mitchell Boulevard and Carroll Peak Elementary. She was promoted to assistant principal in 2005; this begins her 7th year as assistant principal and first year as assistant principal at Como Elementary School. She is a proud graduate of O.D. Wyatt High School and Jarvis Christian College. She received her Master’s Degree in Education from Texas Christian College and is currently completing work towards her Doctorate of Education degree. She enjoys dance, theatre arts, and singing in her local church choir. She is extremely happy and proud to be a part of the Como Lions Family and believes that our students can and will achieve at high levels of academic excellence.

Counselor - LaTreace Adkins

LaTreace Adkins has been serving FWISD for 14 years. She earned her bachelor of arts in Elementary Education form Jarvis Christian College. After seven years as classroom teacher, it was her desire to become a school counselor. She earned her Masters in School Counseling from Amberton University. She has been a counselor at Como Elementary for 7 years where she enjoys working with the students, parents, teachers and community.
