Principal Elizabeth Vasquez
I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio where I majored in Elementary Education and minored in Mathematics. I taught in San Antonio for three years before moving to Fort Worth in 1989 where I was fortunate enough to be hired by Mr. Richard Wilson. I taught at Richard Wilson Elementary for ten years. Since then I had the pleasure of teaching at Daggett Elementary and working as an Instructional specialist at DeZavala Elementary. After earning my Master of Education Degree in Elementary Leadership from Texas Woman's University, I was hired as an Assistant Principal at Manuel Jara Elementary where I remained for three years. In August 2004, I was appointed principal at Cesar Chavez Primary. My purpose early on in my career was to work in a school that mirrored the community and culture that I experienced as a child. It has been a such rewarding experience working with the children at Cesar Chavez Primary. They bring joy and laughter to my life every single day and reaffirm my reasons for choosing education as a career so many years ago.

Assistant Principal Mirtha Garcia
I was born in La Luz Michoacán Mexico. I attended Benito Juarez Elementary from PK-6th. I came to the United States when I was eleven years old. I was enrolled in the 7th grade at Riverside Middle School. I graduated from Amon Carter Riverside High. I was fortunate to have a handful of teachers between the two different education systems, that showed and modeled for me the importance of getting an education. Right after graduating from Texas Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Arts, I was hired to teach at Worth Heights Elementary as a Bilingual Third Grade Teacher. While at Worth Heights I taught for 6 years and then had the opportunity to be the Instructional Specialist for 3 years also at Worth Heights. I completed my Masters from The University of Texas at Arlington. Now, I am the Assistant Principal at Cesar Chavez Primary and I absolutely love it. Coming to this country as a second language learner, definitely has impacted my career choice. I’m only one person, but I can certainly impact student’s educational lives.

School Nurse Leah McEachern
I was born in Fort Worth and have spent most of my life here. I graduated from UTA in 1987 with a degree in nursing and will have completed 15 years in Fort Worth I.S.D. at the end of this school year. In 2002 I went with a group of other FWISD employees to Cuernavaca, Mexico to complete a two-week immersion course to learn Spanish and also gain a better understanding of Mexico's culture and history. It was a wonderful experience and has been beneficial in my role as a school nurse.
