School History

Built in 1988, Edward J. Briscoe Elementary School is named for longtime

Fort Worth educator and humanitarian, Mr. Edward J. Briscoe (1910-2006).

Our school’s theme (Briscoe Elementary is Soaring to New Heights) and mascot

(Eagle) both reflect the indomitable spirit of our progenitor, students, and staff.

Mr. Briscoe believed and would tell his students that “…You can if you think you can and work

hard enough.”  Our staff is committed to the conviction that each student can and will achieve.

Here at Briscoe we achieve because we believe.

“It [teaching] is one of the most important professions that there

is because all people who have made any accomplishments are

people who have attended school.  And teachers have a great

responsibility to young folk to see that they might live successfully.”
