Edward j. Briscoe Administration

 

Principal - Marion Mouton

Dr. Marion Mouton Brings More Than 15 years in education with experience in the classroom and various leadership positions.  He Has previously served as Principal, assistant principal, instructional specialist, and a fifth grade Language Arts teacher.  He also served in the U.S. Army.

Dr. Mouton holds a Bachelor of Science Degree, a Masters in Education, and a Ph.D. in Special Education with a specialization in Administration from Texas Woman’s University. He Also Holds a superintendent certification, principal certification and elementary reading teacher certification.

He has a passion for technology, reading, and teaching children. His goal and desire is to instill that passion for reading in your child as well. He strives to implement research-based practices that ensure all students receive equal access to education and are educated to their highest potential.  He is a lifelong learner and consistently motivates staff to pursue Higher Education.

When he is not working, Dr. Mouton enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, reading, and riding motorcycles.

 

 

Assistant Principal - Vernessa Bowie

Ms. Vernessa Bowie has been serving Fort Worth ISD for over 10 years.  She has served as a classroom teacher and an Instructional Specialist.  This is her 6th year serving as an Assistant Principal.

As a graduate of R. L. Paschal High School she feels honored to give back to Fort Worth ISD.  Ms. Bowie stresses that we (parents, teachers, administrators, etc.) must all share the joy of learning with our students as we communicate the importance of their education.

Ms. Bowie received her Bachelors degree from the University of North Texas in Interdisciplinary Studies; her Masters degree from University of Texas at Arlington in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies; and she is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Education, with only her dissertation to complete, in Administrator Leadership for Teaching and Learning.

 

 Counselor - Angela Kyser

Driven by her passion to help children succeed, Angela Kyser became a counselor and joined Briscoe Elementary School in 2007.  She worked in the Houston ISD as an Elementary Teacher for four years prior to returning to the Metroplex.   Ms. Kyser holds an undergraduate degree in Pre-Law from Texas Southern University and multiple graduate level degrees from Prairie View A&M University.  She views her role at Briscoe as one of facilitation and support while working with students, families and community.  Some of her responsibilities include establishing and maintaining support groups, facilitating social skills workshops, providing individual counseling,  and making community resource referrals when needed.  Ms. Kyser’s hobbies are shopping and organizing family gatherings.  She is an active member of Chosen Vessel Cathedral.

 

 

 Clerk - Cheryl Tucker-Thomas   

Mrs. Thomas has been an employee of Fort Worth ISD for 14 years and currently works as Data Clerk for Briscoe Elementary School.  A mother of two and consummate grandmother , she is involved with her grandchildren and extracurricular activities at Briscoe on a daily basis.  Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Mrs. Tucker relocated to Fort Worth early in her youth.  She is a graduate of Polytechnic High School and later attended TCCC South Campus. When not serving the students and staff of Briscoe Elementary School. Mrs. Thomas is a member of the Inspiring Temple Of Praise Church, Bishop Reginald D. Jordan, Senior Pastor. She serves as an Intercessor, a member of the Minister in Training Class, and is also a Minister of DOP Ministries, Daughters of Purpose overseen by Minister Debra Floyd. In her spare time she enjoys reading and sharing quality time with family and friends.
