What supplies will students need to start school? 
 
 


The Summer break is almost over and now and it's time to start thinking about the start of school.

Check out this list of basic supplies for the year.

Keep in mind, individual teachers may add their own supply requests during the first week of school. Here are some of the supplies required for specific teachers:

  • 6th English/Language Arts (Klavenieks): One 2-inch binder, hand-held pencil sharpener, markers, red pen, kleenex, glue stick, colored construction paper, scissors
  • 6th English Language Arts (Ocampo): One 1.5-inch binder, one 70-page spiral notebook, two 2-pocket folders with brads, red pen, USB Flash Drive (1 GB), one box of tissues, notebook paper, construction paper, handheld pencil sharpener, pencils, colored pencils, markers, scissors, one glue stick
  • 6th Math (Peterson & Andrade): One 1-inch binder (heavy duty preferred), pencils, one box of Kleenex
  • 6th Pre-AP Math (Peterson): One 1.5-inch binder (heavy duty); One 0.5-inch floppy binder; protractor; personal pencil sharpener, pencils, one box of Kleenex
  • 6th Pre-AP Accelerated Math (Peterson): One 1.5-inch binder (heavy duty), One 0.5-inch floppy binder, protractor, personal pencil sharpener, pencils, one box of Kleenex, TI-84 or TI-NSpire graphing calculator (Not required, but advised. Calculators will be discussed at the parent meeting.)
  • 6th Social Studies (Sloan): 1 set (12 colors) of colored pencils (don't buy the large variety sets as these will be used by the whole class), 1 folder with brads and pockets, either two glue sticks OR on box of kleenex, pencil (preferred) or pen every day 
  • 6th Science (McInnes): One 1.5-inch binder, dividers, composition book, glue stick, hand held pencil sharpener.
  • 6th Pre-AP Science (McInnes): One 1.5-inch binder, dividers, composition book, glue stick, hand held pencil sharpener.
  • 7th Math (Rizzo & Lively): One 1-inch binder (heavy duty preferred), pencils, personal pencil sharpener
  • 7th Pre-AP Math (Rizzo): One 1-inch binder (heavy duty preferred), pencils, personal pencil sharpener
  • 7th English/Language Arts (Howard): One 1-inch binder, dividers, notebook paper, pencil bag, pencils, red pen, one box of Kleenex
  • 7th Pre-AP English/Language Arts (Howard): One 1-inch binder, dividers, notebook paper, pencil bag, pencils, red pen, one box of Kleenex
  • 7th English/Language Arts (Tysinger): One 1-inch OR 2 inch binder, two pocket folders with brads, pencils, notebook paper, USB Flash Drive, one box of Kleenex.
  • 7th Science (Mumford): One 1-inch binder with a set of five dividers, loose leaf notebook paper, pencils, blue or black pens, washable markers, and color pencils.
  • 8th Math (Green): One heavy duty 1.5 or 2-inch binder, 1 floppy binder, one 70-page spiral, notebook paper, pencils, 2 red or green grading pens, personal pencil sharpener, one box of Kleenex
  • 8th Math (Heick): One 2-inch binder, 2 bradded folders with pockets (green and yellow), two 70-page spirals, notebook paper, pencils, 2 grading pens, 2 black Expo markers (given to Mr. Heick), personal pencil sharpener
  • 7th/8th Algebra (Heick): One 2-inch binder, 2 bradded folders with pockets (green and yellow), two 70-page spirals, notebook paper, pencils, 2 grading pens, 2 black Expo markers (given to Mr. Heick), personal pencil sharpener
  • 8th English/Language Arts (Crowe-Dory & Goodman): 1.5-inch binder, 2-pocket folder, dividers, USB Flash Drive, note cards, notebook paper
  • 8th English I (Goodman): 1.5-inch binder, 2-pocket folder, dividers, spiral, USB Flash Drive, note cards, notebook paper
  • 8th Social Studies (Jarchow): One 1.5-inch binder (heavy duty preferred)
  • 8th Science (Adia): One 1.5-inch binder, 3 fine line Expo markers, one pack of colored pencils OR one pack of markers (for class use), one bottle of glue, one package of post-it notes, one spiral notebook.
  • LINC Class (Stockton): 2 boxes of Kleenex, pencils, box of map pencils, 2 packages of notebook paper, 2 packages of glue sticks, 2 pink erasers
  • Resource Classes (Sayles): 24 No. 2 pencils, 70 page spiral notebook for each class, 2-pocket folder wit brads, colored pencils, one package of wide ruled notebook paper, one box of Kleenex

Electives

  • Career Explorations (Potts): One 1-inch binder with pockets, dividers
  • Touch Systems (Potts): One Spiral
  • Orchestra (O'Brien): 1-inch (not larger) black binder, soft cloth to clean instrument, other supplies for specific instruments will be discussed once school starts 
  • Art (Phillips): 11 by 13 manilla envelopes, pencil bag, 12 no. 2 pencils, composition book. Note: These supplies will stay in the art room. 

Keep checking back - more teachers' lists will be added as the start of school approaches.

Make sure you keep receipts for all purchased items in case a return is necessary.
